Who we are
This website is operated by CodeWorx Developers Limited ("CodeWorx", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For anything in this policy, contact privacy@codeworxdevelopers.com.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect what you enter in the form:
- Your name, work email, WhatsApp number, country, company and role
- Your message, budget range, timeline, the areas you need help with and any technical context you share
We also record technical details with each enquiry: your IP address, browser user agent, the page you arrived on, the referring website and any campaign (UTM) tags in the link you followed. The form records simple interaction signals, such as whether text was typed or pasted, to tell people apart from automated spam.
If you allow it, Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement also collect information about your visit. See Website analytics and advertising measurement below.
When you browse the site, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, time and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
During a client engagement we process the personal data needed to deliver the work, such as contact details of your team and, where the project requires it, data held in your systems. That processing is governed by our contract and, where needed, a data processing agreement.
Job applications
When you apply for a role, we collect what you enter in the application form: your name, email, phone number, city, years of experience, notice period, expected salary if you give one, LinkedIn or portfolio links, your note and your CV.
We use this only to assess your application and contact you about it (steps before entering an employment contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting). Applications are checked for spam with simple automated rules; no AI service is used to assess them, and decisions are made by people.
Your CV is stored outside the public website, is never published, and is shared only with the people involved in hiring for the role. Write to careers@codeworxdevelopers.com to withdraw your application or ask for your data to be deleted.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project (our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and steps before entering a contract)
- To screen enquiries for spam, vendor pitches and abuse (our legitimate interest in keeping the inbox usable and the service secure)
- To deliver, invoice and support client projects (performance of a contract)
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation)
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not use your enquiry for advertising, except that, if you allow Advertising, Google's tag may measure the enquiry using your hashed email address or phone number, as described under Website analytics and advertising measurement.
Automated screening of enquiries
Every enquiry passes automated checks: rate limits, a check that the email domain can receive mail, a phone number format check, rules that detect sales pitches, and a text classifier trained on examples of client briefs and vendor pitches.
We may also use an AI service provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to classify the message. Only the text of the enquiry is sent for this purpose, under the provider's business terms, which do not allow it to train models on the data.
An enquiry that scores as spam is not delivered. If you believe a genuine enquiry was blocked, email us and a person will review it.
Website analytics and advertising measurement
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, and Google Ads measurement to see which of our ads lead to enquiries. Both are provided by Google and run through one Google tag.
Nothing is loaded before you choose. On your first visit a banner asks for your choice: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Manage preferences. Browsing or scrolling is never treated as consent. Advertising measurement can only be switched on together with Analytics, because both use the same Google tag.
When allowed, Google receives:
- The pages you view and how you move between them
- How you arrived: the referring website, campaign tags such as utm_source and utm_campaign, and Google Ads click identifiers such as gclid
- Your device and browser type, and your IP address, which Google uses to provide the service and estimate an approximate location
- A few events: starting the project enquiry form, a successful enquiry, starting or submitting a job application, and clicks on main buttons, case studies and our social profiles
The events our website sends to Google never include your name, email address, phone number, message, CV or any other form content. They record that something happened, not what you wrote.
Separately, our Google account uses Google's user-provided data feature for advertising measurement. Where you allow Advertising, Google's own tag may read contact details you enter in a form on this site, such as your email address or phone number, and send them to Google in a hashed (one-way transformed) form, so Google can measure whether our ads led to enquiries. This happens only with Advertising allowed. It never includes your project description, message or CV. Google uses this data under its own terms and our advertising agreement with Google.
Legal basis: your consent. You can change or withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing stops further collection and removes Google's cookies for this site from your browser. To stop Google's user-provided data measurement, leave Advertising switched off.
Google processes this data under its own terms, including for its own purposes as described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google is based in the United States; see International transfers.
Our test environment (beta) never sends data to Google.
International transfers
Our team works across more than one country, and some providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data moves internationally, we use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted
- Screening logs of blocked submissions: up to 12 months
- Job applications and CVs: up to 12 months after the role closes, so we can contact you about similar roles, then deleted; sooner if you ask
- Client project and billing records: for the length of the engagement and up to 6 years after, to meet accounting and legal obligations
- Server logs: as set by our hosting provider, usually no more than 90 days
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.
Email privacy@codeworxdevelopers.com. We reply within one month. If you are in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), and in the EU to your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect personal data with access limited to the people who need it, encrypted connections, individual accounts and the practices described in our Cybersecurity Policy. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you without undue delay if a breach affects your data.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
