Middle East & North Africa

Software engineering for companies in the Middle East.

Businesses in Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider region work with us on healthcare, logistics and operations platforms. We are 1 to 2 hours ahead of the Gulf, so most of your week is our week, and local data protection law is part of the design.

Buyer context

What buyers in the region usually bring us

Many projects in the region are operational: a clinic network moving consultations and payments online, a logistics provider that needs every vehicle on one live map, or a services business replacing paper and WhatsApp threads with a proper platform.

Buyers often ask about hosting location, Arabic support and how quickly a first version can be in front of real users. Those answers shape the architecture, so we settle them in the first conversations.

Our work in the region includes a virtual clinic platform and a real-time fleet management system, both in Qatar.

Working hours

Your day, our day.

Islamabad is 1 hour ahead of the UAE and 2 hours ahead of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, all year.

Your time zoneYour hoursIslamabad (PKT, UTC+5)
UAE (GST, UTC+4)9:00 to 18:0010:00 to 19:00 PKT
Qatar and Saudi Arabia (AST, UTC+3)8:00 to 17:0010:00 to 19:00 PKT

Your working day and ours almost match. The main thing to plan is the weekend: Qatar and Saudi Arabia work Sunday to Thursday, so we agree up front which days carry demos and releases.

Commercial terms

How an engagement is set up.

No regional office and no surprises: these are the terms buyers here usually ask about first.

Hosting decided early

We agree the cloud provider and region with you, including in-country regions where your data rules require them.

Arabic when you need it

If the product needs Arabic, we plan right-to-left layouts and bilingual content from the first design, not as a later translation.

A first version fast

Most regional clients start with a contained first release on one workflow, then expand as it proves itself.

Agreed in writing

Scope, milestones and payment terms are fixed in writing before work starts, with a 50% deposit and milestone billing under our standard terms.

Terms you will hear in the first call
Data residency
Requirements to store certain data inside the country. Azure runs a Qatar Central region; AWS and Azure both run regions in the UAE.
RTL
Right-to-left layouts for Arabic. It affects design, components and testing, so it is decided at the start.
Free zone data law
Some UAE free zones, such as the DIFC and ADGM, have their own data protection laws alongside the federal law.
Sunday to Thursday
The working week in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The UAE moved its government weekend to Saturday and Sunday in 2022.
Privacy and security

The rules that shape the build.

Each country has its own data protection law. Your legal team sets the policy; we build to it and record how each requirement is met.

Qatar: Law No. 13 of 2016

Qatar's personal data privacy protection law covers consent, individuals' rights and the security of personal data.

UAE: Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021

The UAE's federal personal data protection law. Free zones such as the DIFC and ADGM apply their own data protection rules.

Saudi Arabia: Personal Data Protection Law

Enforced by SDAIA since 14 September 2024. Transfers outside the Kingdom need safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and a risk assessment.

FAQ

Working with CodeWorx from the Middle East

Can our data stay in Qatar, the UAE or Saudi Arabia?

Usually, yes. Azure runs a Qatar Central region, and AWS and Azure both run regions in the UAE. We agree the hosting region with you so production data stays where your rules require, while engineers work with minimized or test data.

Do you build Arabic and right-to-left interfaces?

If the product needs Arabic, we decide it at the start: right-to-left layouts, bilingual content and testing are planned into the first design rather than added later.

Do you have an office in the Gulf?

No. Our engineering team works onsite in Islamabad, Pakistan, 1 to 2 hours ahead of the Gulf, and works with clients in the region remotely.

A few sentences on the problem is enough. We reply with a clear next step and times that suit your working week.

  1. 1We read your brief properly
  2. 2You speak with people who can discuss the business and the engineering
  3. 3You get a clear next step: a scoped engagement, a discovery phase or a proposal
