RoomieAI – Smart Room Organizer & Design Planner

Project Overview:

RoomieAI is a smart room organizer and design planner app designed to help users in the UAE organize and design their living spaces using AI. The app leverages AI to provide personalized room layouts, furniture suggestions, and design tips based on the user’s preferences and available space. By integrating Flutter for cross-platform development, Firebase for real-time data syncing, OpenAI API for intelligent design recommendations, and Three.js for 3D visualizations, RoomieAI helps users transform their living spaces into well-organized, aesthetically pleasing environments.

Background:

Interior design and home organization can be a challenging and overwhelming task for many people, especially when they have limited space or are unsure about how to maximize the potential of their rooms. RoomieAI was created to solve this problem by using AI to suggest personalized design layouts, furniture, and color schemes based on user input and preferences. The client wanted to develop an app that would empower users to visualize and plan their room design with ease, whether they were decorating a new home, rearranging their current space, or looking for fresh design inspiration.

• Provides users with personalized design suggestions based on room dimensions, preferences, and furniture availability.

• Uses OpenAI API to deliver intelligent recommendations and design tips tailored to individual user needs and tastes.

• Leverages Three.js to offer real-time 3D visualizations of room layouts, allowing users to see the design changes in an interactive environment.

• Syncs data in real-time across devices using Firebase, allowing users to access and modify their room designs seamlessly.

Solution Overview:

Mobile Frontend Development with Flutter:

• Flutter was used to build the cross-platform mobile app, providing a smooth, responsive experience on both iOS and Android. The app’s interface allows users to easily input room dimensions, upload photos, and explore various design suggestions.

• Users can also interact with the 3D room planner, dragging and placing furniture, changing layouts, and seeing their ideas come to life in real-time.

Backend Development with Firebase:

• Firebase powers the backend, enabling real-time syncing of room data, design plans, and user preferences across devices. Firebase Authentication ensures secure login, while Firebase Firestore stores user-generated data such as room measurements, design layouts, and saved plans.

• Firebase also enables the app to sync room designs and adjustments instantly, making it easy for users to pick up where they left off, whether on their phone, tablet, or another device.

AI-Powered Design Recommendations with OpenAI API:

• OpenAI API is integrated to provide intelligent, personalized design recommendations. Based on user input (room size, style preferences, furniture availability), the AI suggests optimal layouts, furniture arrangements, and color schemes.

• The AI also offers tips on maximizing space, optimizing light, and creating functional, aesthetically pleasing room designs, helping users make the most of their living spaces.

3D Visualization with Three.js:

• Three.js is used to create 3D visualizations of room designs, allowing users to see their ideas in a realistic, interactive environment. Users can place furniture items, rearrange them, and view different layouts from multiple angles, making it easier to visualize the final result before making changes in the real world.
